HI I’M FRANS KEMPER.
I’M A SEMI-RETIRED DUTCH GUY FROM SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL.
And a passionate photographer. Making photo’s was something my dad also loved to do and let me use his camera before I reached the age of ten. My passion was born. Twelve images on a roll in an Agfa box camera. Making a family image was a big thing. Everybody in the right position, camera settings carefully checked and double checked, telling everybody to pay attention and finally the shot was taken. With only twelve images on a roll, one does take care. Not even talking about the attachable flash light with those old fashioned flash bulbs. One for each image.
Fast forward a couple of decades, we shoot around with our smart phones and piling up images (read data) like there is no tomorrow.
My very first camera was an Ilford with a fixed retractable lens. I still have that one in my collection. From there I went through all the SLR’s and DSLR’s with prime’s and zoom’s and all the bells and whistles you can image. Carrying loads of stuff. And always fiddling around with it instead of paying attention to the image.
Until it hitted me at one point. This was too much. I took the dive and went on a vacation with only a 50mm prime on the body. Ohhh joy!
I was making images again. Thinking about the image, zooming with my feet, and fighting how to get that perfect shot.
Telelenses are not my thing, and also 50mm was bit to to strong for me, so going through 35mm fixed, I finally settled for 28mm fixed and full frame.
Due to the nature of my business and personal interest, I was always able to travel a lot. I am pretending to build this site up piece by piece and show you not more than 16 images in each album. (Who wants to go through hundreds!)
When this is done, I will add a blog as well to talk about my travel (and other) photography.
In the mean time, feel free to contact me, even to say hi!
